2014 EvaDress Pattern Contest Details!

The 2014 EvaDress Pattern Contest commences at 11:59 p.m. EST on January 14, 2013.
There are two categories for which entrants may sew and each entrant is welcome to submit as many projects as desired.

Category I: Advanced
~Any men’s or women’s garment (not accessory) from an EvaDress pattern to create a piece inspired by film, t.v. or vintage print. We’re talking 1959 and before. When you forward your submission, tell us what inspired you about the original design and what you liked most about the EvaDress pattern you used to create it. You are not required to use all elements from the style you sew from the pattern, although you must post an image of the pattern you used in your submission.

Category II: Beginner
~Any men’s or women’s garment (not accessory) from an EvaDress pattern. When you forward your submission, tell us why as a beginning sewer of vintage styles, you chose the pattern you did and what was most challenging about it. As a beginner, you are required to use all elements from the style you sew from the pattern as it was originally issued.
No purchase necessary to enter (If you have an EvaDress pattern in your stash and not yet put it to use, here’s your chance).
Five FINALISTS from EACH category will be voted by all participating EvaDress customers, fellow entrants, EvaDress FaceBook friends and members (followers) of EvaDress.blogspot.com. I will vote one winner from each set of five selected finalists. I will judge each finalist according to quality of construction (as best I can tell online!), relevance to the category entered and creativity.
A $50 gift certificate to EmmaOneSock.com and a $75 EvaDress Patterns certificate will be awarded to the advanced winner.
A $25 gift certificate from Fashionfabricsclub.com* and a $100 EvaDress Patterns certificate will be awarded to the beginning winner. The EvaDress certificate is redeemable for up to one year from March 15, 2014 (the contest ending date). Separate conditions may apply from the donated certificates as outlined on each certificate.
One is permitted to submit a project if the muslin was started before the contest begin date, but the final fabric project is to be executed within the published contest time frame. Patterns may have been graded or altered for proper fit before the contest start date as well.
The final fabric projects are to be started no sooner than 11:59 EST on January 14, 2013. The contest will close for submissions at 11:59 p.m. EST on March 15, 2014. Voting will take place upon notice here March 15 THROUGH March 17, 2014 and announced no later than March 18, 2014.

Alison, what is your project?

If you are sewing straight from an EvaDress pattern, you are a Category II entrant.

If you are using an EvaDress pattern to recreate a vintage inspiration, thus, not sewing just from the pattern, but modifying it, you are a Category I entrant.
